Amazing show! OMG! [01 Mar 2006|02:17pm]

Flint Blade is solo guitarist who plays his guitar like a piano, making sweet ethereal jazz, ambient, and electronica sounds. the respectable 21st century one-man-band... in the way that a concert pianist could be considered a one-man band of the 20th century. Go to the website for vids and mp3s.

Alexx Calise is a singer/songwriter with soulful, bluesy, and rocking songs. She's a powerhouse all by herself. She'll be playing solo acoustic at this performance.

Three Flint Blade shows this week you CANNOT miss! (xposted) [19 Dec 2005|03:14pm]

Monday!! (that's tonight) -- Nakava in Boca Raton from 9 PM sharp till the candles burn out.

Thursday!! -- Double-booking with Alexx Calise at the Funky Buddha Lounge in Boca. If you haven't yet seen Alexx play, you MUST be at this show, one of us will start at 9 PM sharp.

Friday!! -- 3 hours of music at the Vienna Coffeehouse and Bistro in Davie. Starts at 6:30 PM

About me (Flint Blade)
I play ethereal jazz and jazz standards on a 14-string guitar using the two-handed tapping method of playing, which amounts to playing a bass or rhythm line with one hand, and the melody or harmony with the other hand. My originals are all instrumental to date.
Here's my guitar:

Flint Blade In Concert! OMG [06 Nov 2005|10:25pm]

I'm playing this monday (and the next two mondays) at the Kava Bar in Boca Raton.

I'll be playing mostly original music -- very jazzy, very ethereal, sometimes meditative, other times rather engaging.
Officially I'll be playing solo. Last time I jammed with two drummers and we came up with some tribal sounds. There will probably be some collaboration tonight, but no promises.
You can check out some mp3s and videos of my solo work at my website -- FlintBlade.com/media

The Kava Bar is right by FAU, the address is
140 Northwest 20th Street
Boca Raton

The kava bar is very laid back if you haven't been there.
Come out, drink kava, enjoy my music-- or else.
I am playing from 7:30 till close.

La di da.

I just found out about "High School Reunion 3". Why didn't anyone say anything about it on here?! I would have loved to see that; did any of you guys tape it? Did anything memorable happen on the show?

It's that time of year... [03 Apr 2005|09:58pm]

Senior Recollection time.

I'm an alumna from Gibbons and every year up to now I've taken the time to write to those few special people I got to know well at Gibbons. It's quite somber for me - this is the last year I'll be writing recollection letters. This is the class that were freshmen when I was a senior. I'm writing my freshman buddy and a few other people.

The hardest thing about writing recollection letters is finding the right thing to say. I want to strike a chord, a memory within my friends, and give them invaluable advice for the future. That's a large goal for a small greeting card and an average writer. Anyway, the point of this post is, what can I write to them? What would you write? What did people write to you?

[13 Dec 2004|09:51pm]
Yeah so I guess I'm going to Gibbons next semester, it was so unlikely but its happening anyways. See I was supposed to go to Stoneman Douglas but then I changed my mind and I wanted to go to Gibbons instead, and my mom was more than happy to agree cause she thinks public school is the devil and all. So my dad made some connections with some lady who works on the board of private schools or something and after he pulled some strings, I am able to go on January 10th for such a late notice like on the week the semester ends. I'm very excited yet scared, cause I've never been a 'transfer' student so its going to feel weird. I told Alana and I told her not to tell anyone cause I don't think anybody would've cared, then all of a sudden everyone is like 'your leaving?' so yeah so much for that.

Question [15 Aug 2004|05:09am]

When does school start at Gibbons? Just wondering b/c I heard the public schools are in already. That sucks that school starts earlier like every year, I'm glad I'm passed all that. College rocks.

*waves* Hi! Nat here. Um, for all you st. e's Class of 2003 people out there, I have a short yet entertaining entry relating to the good ole days of pissing Ferrug off.

During my French class one morning, we were pronouncing our vocabulary for the chapter. There's this word, "maillot de bain", which is a bathing suit. The first word sorta sounds like "may-oh". So naturally, thinking of Andrew Boss, I shout, "MAYO!" and crack up while everyone stares and wonders what the hell I was smoking.

Good stuff.
